See you there!

Sunday 22nd, 7pm. ‘Escape from Suburbia’ is the very good sequel to ‘End of Suburbia’, the film that got it all started! You don’t have to have seen the latter to appreciate the former. As always it is bring and share food. At Iain & Suzie’s – 32 Nuttings Road (off Coldham’s Lane).

Update

A meeting with the Mayor… a local produce exchange… a vibrant stall at Strawberry Fair…

Three of us attended the Transition Conference, others went on positive energy & permaculture courses.

Lots more films, food shares, and a real sense of building a community.

Coming up soon…. Open Meeting on Sunday 29th June, 3pm – 5.30pm at Romsey Mill community centre on Hemingford Road (just off Mill Road). Just turn up – see you there!

It’s only been a few months since someone uttered the words “Transition Town” and “Cambridge” in the same sentence, yet already something is happening.

We are a committed steering group of a dozen people, we meet every 3 weeks, and already have vision, mission, enthusiasm, skills, connections and a ton of energy. Three of us are attending the Transition Town Conference in April, others are training in permaculture. One of our group shows awareness-raising films weekly at his house, helping us educate ourselves about the twin drivers of peak oil and climate change, so that we can spread the word effectively to our fellow community members.

We felt now was a good time to start a blog so here we are, launching this, getting ready for the world to watch Cambridge (UK) go into transition mode.
